Kevin Love regreso al Q por primera vez desde el pasado mes de Abril anotando 10 puntos, dos de ellos en esta canasta de trasnsición con asistencia de Jared Cunningham.

(On tonight’s game): “First of all, I played our main guys more minutes tonight. And for the most part, we have not done that the whole preseason by design and by forces of nature. You know, guys being hurt, guys coming back from injury, guys maybe not being in condition to play that many minutes. I didn’t press it despite what it meant to us in the fourth quarters in probably five of the seven games that we played that were perhaps winnable for us. But we had a plan and I think I told you that right from the get-go and we stayed true to it even though it was a little painful. We did what we had to do and tonight I was able to play some of the starters that we had out there. We are still missing a number of significant ones. With more extended minutes, I thought that gave the second unit a little more strength going down the stretch and we were able to pull out a W.”

(On how he feels after two games): “Good. Just really getting reps in. Tonight we played against a good team that is well coached, got a few good looks. This is a big week leading up to game one.”

Los Cavs perdieron su sexto juego de la pretemporada pero lo importante fue que Kevin Love regresó a las canchas por primera vez desde que se lesionó en Abril y lo hizo anotando 6 puntos y consiguiendo dos asistencias, una de ellas vino de un pase detrás de su espalda para el triple de Mo Williams.

(Thoughts on Kevin Love): I thought he looked great.  Not surprised as I told you on many occasions I think physically he’s really in good shape, he has no problems running the court, moving around on the court.  I thought he didn’t shy away from any contact whatsoever.  (He) got shots and we know those are shots that he’s going to knock down.  I was extremely pleased with Kevin tonight.

(How did you feel?): I thought I was fine and I felt really comfortable. We have been going through a lot of the stuff in practice. Body felt better than it has in a long time so it was a good first step

(On playing Anderson Varejao and Sasha Kaun together and the play of Timofey Mozgov): “I think at times Andy and Sasha are effective. It sort of depends on the flow of the game and the lineups that we’re facing. I thought they brought some energy at the first burn that they played together. I don’t know if that’s going to be a lineup going down the road that we’re going to play a lot of but in the preseason we certainly got a look at it with some limited success and other times when it hasn’t been great. Timo, I feel and know him very well and I know that he’s not in his best shape right now. He went through a surgery this summer. He’s been battling back from that.  He’s experiencing his better days and his less good days. Even on a bad day, the guy had 16 points and six rebounds in (26) minutes. Numbers-wise that’s pretty good but he’s not playing the way that I know that he can play and the way he knows that he can play. But he’s fighting through it and he knows he has to work hard to get himself into the kind of physical shape he was in last season and I believe he will.”

(On where he is at in the preseason right now): “We are ready to get the season started. That’s the honest truth. Preseason is ‘pre-season’. When you approach the game at a high level and you feel bad that you can’t go out there with the energy that you want to go out there with. That’s three games in four nights. In preseason we’re short-handed – guys are fatigued, it happens during the season all the time, four games in five nights. Guys come out and you know they just don’t have it. You know you lose to a team that’s not a playoff team, per say. Obviously that’s not the case tonight. This is just preseason, the season hasn’t started. When you see guys having balls slipping out of their hands, not getting back on defense, not making that second effort – those are signs of a little fatigue. I think preseason is a part of the year where you want to get your wind up, meaning get in game shape, season shape. Guys are still getting to that point. It was just a case tonight that one team was fresher than the other and they did a great job of exploiting that. We just have to make sure that we just continue to get healthy and get guys back and the guys that are available try to keep us healthy.”

(On his conditioning): “This summer was tough for me because I used to spend summer in workouts and I try to prepare myself mentally first for the season but this summer was different for me. I’m out of shape. If we say first day of training camp and right now it’s a big difference. We still have two weeks before the season, so I’ll I have to push a little harder to try to be ready when the season starts.”

(On what he takes from a game with 70 combined free throws between two teams and if it affected the flow of the game): "Fouling too much…I wouldn’t say there was no flow. I thought we flowed beautifully in the first half ourselves. But fouling too much, you have to play great defense without fouling.”

(On the game tonight): “For us, it was important to attack the basket. It showed when we were in the bonus early and often. That was a point of emphasis and I thought we did a good job of getting to the line – even I shot free throws and I don’t really get to the line that much.”

(On his thoughts on the team after three games): "I think of the three games, this was not one of the better ones. And that’s in direct contrast to the way that we’ve been working in practice. But sometimes that happens. We came out with less energy and less passion than we have in the two previous games. But again, it gives us a chance to see some different things, to evaluate things and to correct things. And that’s what we need to do.”

(On if any improvements were made tonight by the team): “I think we did some things good. It’s hard to really say with us having so many guys out right now…Hopefully we can get full strength sooner than later. I feel like we did some good things. We did some things that we need to work on as well. It was our (third) preseason game so we have to continue to get better.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers are heading to Columbus to show their O-H-I-O love to fans! As part of the Cavs’ #AllforOhio tour of the Buckeye State, the team will make Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center their “home away from home” for preseason action against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, October 12th at 7:00 p.m. Before game time, the Cavs are inviting all fans to enjoy the FREE Fan Fest that starts at 4:00 p.m. just outside the Schottenstein Center and will feature lots of fun activities and entertainment for the whole family. Inside the arena, fans will get a preview of the 2015-16 Cavaliers and a taste of what makes the home court advantage so special.

“We are very excited to be back in Columbus for some preseason action,” said Len Komoroski, CEO of the Cleveland Cavaliers. “Columbus fans have been absolutely great in their support of the Cavs and being able to connect with them this way is something we appreciate and very much look forward to."

To unite the crowd, all fans in attendance at the Schottenstein Center will receive a wine-colored ‘We Are All Cavaliers’ T-Shirt presented by IGS Energy. Cavs in-arena hype man Ahmaad Crump and PA announcer Olivier Sedra will oversee the Cavaliers popular game entertainment show on the road. The show-stopping performances of the Cavalier Girls dance team, high energy Scream Team hip-hop troupe, gravity defying stunts of the Q Spirit Squad and playful antics of Cavs mascot Sir C.C. will be on site to keep the crowd entertained until the final buzzer!

Fans of ALL ages can enjoy a FREE Fan Fest outside of the Schottenstein Center beginning at 4:00 p.m. A ticket to the game is NOT required to enjoy:
