Cavs Partner with University of Toledo for Bow Tie Challenge!

A.C. and Sir C.C., Moondog and Fred and other favorite Cavs personalities look mighty spiffy in a bow tie, but WHO wears the stylish fashion accessory the best? That’s for fans to decide when they cast their vote in the Cavs and University of Toledo’s “Tie One On” Bracket Bow Tie Challenge in support of prostate cancer awareness.

The bracket-style challenge begins on January 25th and runs through February 21st exclusively on Cavs.com, where each week fans can vote for which of their favorite Cavaliers personalities look the most DAPPER in their Cavs and UT co-branded bow tie. Everyone who votes will automatically be entered for a chance to win a Cavs prize package that includes a pair of FLOOR SEATS to the Cavs vs. Boston Celtics game on March 3rd at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavs have partnered with the University of Toledo to raise awareness for prostate cancer, a cause UT has championed with its annual “Tie One On” fundraiser. Each year, UT’s men’s head basketball coach, Tod Kowalczyk, and his coaching staff don their “Tie One On” bow ties at a designated game to show their support in the fight against prostate cancer. Since the event’s inception at UT in 2011, more than $70,000 has been raised for cancer care, awareness and outreach through generous donations. The 2015 “Tie One On” game at UT is Saturday, January 24th.

“Teaming up with the Cavs is an opportunity for The University of Toledo to partner with one of the most important brands in sports to help UT’s efforts to raise prostate cancer awareness,” said Lawrence J. Burns, vice president for UT External Affairs, and a prostate cancer survivor.

HOW THE “TIE ONE ON” BRACKET BOW TIE CHALLENGE WORKS:

Beginning Sunday, January 25th, fans can go to cavs.com/uttieoneon to cast their vote on who they think sports the best look wearing their custom-designed Cavs and UT bow tie. The personalities with the most votes each week will move on to the next round of the challenge. In the fourth and final week, the “Champion of Dapper” will be awarded an honorary bow tie by the University of Toledo at the Cavs vs. Boston Celtics game on March 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at The Q. The interactive bracket contest homepage was designed and developed by the Sports Products team at Omnigon, an award-winning digital consulting firm.
