Cavs Highlight Opening Week, Christmas Day

TNT will tip off the 2017-18 NBA regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 17, with an Opening Night doubleheader full of compelling storylines including the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, with former Kia NBA Most Valuable Player award recipients Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, hosting the Houston Rockets with newcomer Chris Paul playing alongside James Harden, at 10:30 p.m. ET. In the first game of the doubleheader, the Cleveland Cavaliers and four-time NBA MVP LeBron James will host the Boston Celtics, with offseason acquisition Gordon Hayward joining Isaiah Thomas, in a rematch of last year’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

Opening night coverage on TNT will include Golden State’s championship ring ceremony prior to the opening tip of the Warriors/Rockets game. The night’s action will begin with a one-hour TNT NBA Tip-Off presented by Autotrader pre-game show at 7 p.m.

The network’s coverage of Autotrader Premiere Week will continue Thursday, Oct. 19, with a doubleheader featuring the Oklahoma City Thunder, with reigning Kia NBA MVP Russell Westbrook and new addition Paul George, hosting the New York Knicks and Kristaps Porzingis at 8 p.m. The second game of the doubleheader will feature the Los Angeles Lakers, in the anticipated debut of rookie Lonzo Ball, hosting the LA Clippers and Blake Griffin at 10:30 p.m.

TNT will also showcase a matchup on Christmas, Monday, Dec. 25, when the Lakers and Ball host the Minnesota Timberwolves, with Karl-Anthony Towns and offseason acquisition Jimmy Butler, at 10:30 p.m.

Additionally, the Sports Emmy Award-winning Inside the NBA presented by Kia studio team will provide halftime and post-game coverage for Opening Week and Christmas Day games.
