#CavsRaptors Game Preview - November 15, 2016

Game Summary

So far this season, the Cavaliers have three players averaging at least 20.0 points (Irving-23.9, James-22.9, Love-20.6)

Cleveland's early success can be attributed to their efficiency at the offense end. In Sunday’s win over Charlotte, Cleveland connected on 14 three-pointers. The Cavs have now hit at least 10 threes in all nine games this season,
setting the NBA record for consecutive games with 10 or more made threes to start a season (prev. Houston, first eight games in 2014-15). The Wine and Gold are currently averaging 13.2 made threes a game, which is tied for the league lead with the Rockets.

While the offense has been hitting on all cylinders, Cleveland's defense has been stout over their last two wins. Sunday, the Cavs limited the Hornets to .379 (36-95) shooting, including a .326 (14-43) clip in the second half. In their last
two victories (at Washington, vs. Charlotte), Cleveland has limited opponents to a combined 77 points on 27-84 (.321) shooting in the second half.

The Wine and Gold aim to continue their productivity at both ends of the floor against a Toronto squad hungry for revenge.

After eliminating Toronto from the 2016 Playoffs, the Cavaliers defeated the Raptors in a 94-91 thriller on October 28th at the Air Canada Centre. The Raptors have only lost one other game since then, sitting atop the Atlantic Division with their 7-2 record.

The catalyst behind Toronto's strong start has been the stellar play of their All-Star shooting guard, DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan joined Michael Jordan (1986-87), World B. Free (1979-80) and Nate Archibald (1972-73) as the only players in NBA history to score 30+ points in eight of the first nine games to start a season.

Head-to-Head Matchup

As mentioned, the Cavs have won their least three meetings with the Raptors dating back to the 2016 NBA Playoffs, including their 94-91 victory this season.

Over those three victories, Cleveland has won by an average of 22.4 points (107.7-85.3), while shooting .509 from the field and .464 (39-84) from beyond the arc.

Defensively, the Cavs have held Toronto to a combined .399 shooting from the field (.259 3FG%), including a .389 mark in the Oct. 28 victory at the Air Canada Centre.

Tuesday's matchup will be the second of four meetings between the Conference foes this season (at TOR 12/5, at CLE 4/12).
