The Wine and Gold have dominated during the Playoffs due in large part to their shooting from beyond the arc.
In their 4-0 sweep over Atlanta to advance to the ECF, Cleveland connected on 77 three-pointers, averaging 19.3 threes per game. Their 77 triples were the highest for any playoff series that lasted six or fewer games. The Cavs also became the first team in NBA history to make at least 15 three-pointers in four straight games (regular season and playoffs) after doing so in each game of the Semifinals. (ESPN Stats & Info)
Cleveland has made at least 12 three-pointers in an NBA playoff-record eight consecutive games and leads all 2016 postseason teams in total three-pointers made (134), three-point percentage (.462) and three-pointers per game (16.8). The Cavs have also nailed at least 20 three-pointers on three occasions this postseason, including an NBA-record 25 triples in Game 2 of the Semifinals against Atlanta on May 4.
The Cavs have several players shooting above .400 from long distance this postseason: Channing Frye (.571, 12-21), Kyrie Irving (.538, 28-52), Richard Jefferson (.533, 8-15), J.R. Smith (.508, 31-61), Iman Shumpert (.462, 6-13), Kevin Love (.444, 28-63).
While the Cavs offense thrives, their efforts at the defensive end have also been solid. Cleveland has held opponents to under 100 points in six of their eight games this postseason.
Toronto comes into Tuesday's contest having reached the Conference Finals for the first time in team history after defeating the Miami Heat in seven games during their Semifinal matchup.
Despite some struggles with their shooting, Toronto's dynamic backcourt tandem of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozen both averaged over 20 points and five rebounds in their series with the Heat.
