Cavaliers Add Radio Network Affiliate In Columbus

Cleveland, Nov. 1 - The Cleveland Cavaliers today announced that Clear Channel AM 1230 WTPG has joined the Cavaliers Radio Network and will carry games during the 2006-2007 NBA regular season and playoffs. The addition of WTPG increases the Cavaliers Radio Network to 19 stations, among the largest in the NBA. Joe Tait, one of the NBA’s broadcasting legends, enters his 35th season as the play by play voice of the Cavs, and Mike Snyder returns for his 15th season as Studio Host, anchoring all pregame, halftime, and postgame shows.

“We are excited to add the Cavs to our programming line-up and are looking forward to following LeBron James and his teammates as they chase an NBA Championship,” said Bruce Collins, WTPG Program Director.

The Cavaliers have played a preseason game in Columbus for the last three seasons as their fan base continues to grow throughout the state and the entire region.

“We are happy to have WTPG deliver the excitement of Cavaliers basketball to our fans in central Ohio,” said Cavs President Len Komoroski. “The Columbus area is a growing market for us and we are thrilled that our fans can once again follow us for every game on the radio.”

The Cavs begin the regular season tonight against the Washington Wizards. The pregame show begins at 7:30 and game time is scheduled for 8:00pm on the Cavs Radio Network.
