How LeBron James has paved the way for the next wave of NBA stars
Author: Chris Fedor
Publication: Cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The fact that LeBron James and Draymond Green share a jersey number is purely coincidental. Green wears No. 23 as a salute to former Michigan State star Jason Richardson.

That doesn't mean, though, that Green hasn't been watching closely, trying to follow James' blueprint.

"I think when you look around a lot of things that LeBron has done, he's done it the right way," the Warriors two-time All-Star told cleveland.com recently. "He's done a great job, whether it's with a great team around him or whether it's the way he's taking care of his body and going the extra mile with that or the brands he's aligned himself with. I think a lot of times in the game of basketball with our competitive nature you look at things and say, 'Man I have to do something different.' If it's working why not copy the model?" - CLICK HERE to read full story.

Hey, Joe: I think all NBA announcing teams are pretty bad. How do you rate them? -- Larry, Fairview Park

Hey, Larry: This is kind of like saying all NBA refs are bad. Not even close to true. The league is littered with solid broadcast teams and individuals. You wrote to me because you were put off by Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy, and Mark Jackson during Saturday night's ABC telecast of the Cavs' 30-point loss to the Clippers. Well, guess what? They were put off by Cleveland sitting LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love. I actually have a long list of broadcasters I admire, but there's one name I'm going to print here -- ESPN's Doris Burke. Her knowledge of the sport, in terms of strategy and the people in the league, and her delivery are first class. You remember her working the sidelines in the Finals, and she's the best in the NBA today at that, but she is also so very good when ESPN comes to its senses and puts her at the scorer's table as the color commentator. - CLICK HERE to read full story.

LeBron James and LaVar Ball -- two different parenting styles: Bill Livingston
Author: Bill Livingston
Publication: Cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- In the old days, the Greeks thought sons inherited the sins of their fathers, not their talents.

They never met LaVar Ball, the delusional father of three West Coast prospects, the oldest of whom, Lonzo Ball, is a marvelous freshman at UCLA.

The elder Ball, who averaged 2.2 points per game in his lone season at Washington State, has said that in his "heyday," which may have been more like a "heyminute," he could "wipe the floor with Michael Jordan." - CLICK HERE to read full story.
