Cleveland Cavaliers to face Detroit Pistons in first round of the playoffs

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- It's official. The Cleveland Cavaliers will begin their playoff run this weekend against the Detroit Pistons. Game 1 of the series will begin on either Saturday or Sunday at Quicken Loans Arena.

The first-round matchup was solidified on Tuesday night when Detroit lost to the Miami Heat, 99-93, and the Indiana Pacers topped the New York Knicks, 102-90.

With the Pacers holding the tiebreaker and a one game lead over Detroit, they will be the No. 7 seed while the Pistons locked up the East's eighth spot and their first postseason berth since the 2008-09 season when they were swept by the Cavs. - CLICK HERE to read full story.

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio €-- Asked why he played so hard in comparatively meaningless games after the pennant race had been decided, Joe DiMaggio said, "Because someone might be seeing me play for the first time."

Said LeBron James, who didn't play at all in some important games before the Cavaliers clinched home-court advantage through the NBA Eastern Conference finals, "I hate to miss games that people, maybe its their first time to watch me play. In that regard, I apologize. I hate for someone to be the first time to watch me play, and I'm not playing. But our coaching staff and front office have a lot bigger picture."

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams to travel to New York for knee examination

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams flew to New York on Tuesday for a Wednesday appointment regarding his bothersome left knee, league sources informed cleveland.com.

This will come two days after seeking a second opinion from renowned knee specialist Dr. James Andrews in Florida. The 13-year veteran has traveled to see Dr. Andrews on three occasions this season.

He is expected to return to Cleveland to be on the bench with his team for Wednesday's regular season finale against the Detroit Pistons, but he will not dress. - CLICK HERE to read full story.
