LeBron James to Host Basketball Camp for Youths In Dallas/Fort Worth and Akron

New York, Apr. 3rd - The LeBron James King’s Academy announced that LeBron James will host a basketball camp for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 during the summer of 2006. The first annual King’s Academy will take place at the University of North Texas in Dallas/Fort Worth from June 16-20 and at the University of Akron in Akron, OH from June 22-26.

LeBron, who recently became the youngest player in NBA history to win the Most Valuable Player award of the All-Star game, will be assisted by an elite coaching staff from across the country. In addition, special celebrity guests will appear at each location. Youths attending King’s Academy will have access to modern, indoor facilities and be instructed in the basic fundamentals of basketball, including shooting, passing and dribbling. The camp will offer both overnight and day camper sessions.

“I am very excited for the first annual King’s Academy summer camp and the opportunity to spend time with kids on a one-to-one level and teach them about basketball,” said LeBron. “Starting a camp has always been a lifelong dream, and I’m looking forward to coaching youths on how to play the game and the importance of teamwork in sports and in life. I am sure that King’s Academy will be an unforgettable experience for everyone who participates.”
