April 13th Game Recap: Wizards vs. Knicks

Wizards Fall to Knicks

A game in which the Wizards will need to quickly move on from and quickly forget, as they fell 103-65 to the Knicks on Friday night.

The Wiz were able to pull within six in the second quarter, but most of the game had them down by double digits. Jordan Crawford led the team with 17, while Kevin Seraphin added 12.

Fortunately for the Wizards, they are right back at it on Saturday night as they return home to face the Cleveland Cavaliers at Verizon Center.

On tonight’s game:
“They don’t stop, they keep the pressure going. We didn’t come out with enough energy in the beginning, but we fought our way back in the second quarter. Made it a close game for a while with lapses on defense. We missed easy shots. We turned the ball over a lot… getting them easy points.”

WIZARDS GUARD ROGER MASON JR:

On tonight’s game:
“The way we played today was completely embarrassing. The thing with this League is you have to bring it every night. That team (The Knicks) is fighting for playoff position (and) we’re fighting for our pride. They came out and completely humiliated us.”

More on tonight’s game:
“The biggest thing is our effort. You’re going to have nights when you miss shots; you’re going to have nights when the other team hits shots. With us early on that wasn’t the case. We we’re lethargic. We let them do whatever they want on the offensive end.”

WIZARDS HEAD COACH RANDY WITTMAN:

On tonight’s game:
“It’s embarrassing is what it was. Our effort tonight was uncharacteristic of what we had been doing. It looked like we were overwhelmed from the jump ball when we walked into the arena.”

More on tonight’s game:
“I tried everything. Every line up. When you shoot 27% for a game, you are going to have numbers that look like this.”
