INFO:              Centuries ago, a Gjallarhorn was a horn sounded by Viking gods to signal the beginning of a great battle. The original Minnesota Vikings mascot, Hub Meeds, would sound a horn on the sidelines when the team played at Metropolitan Stadium. The Vikings Gjallarhorn was re-created and has been sounded to start each game since, signaling THE VIKINGS ARE COMING. Notable honorary Vikings that have sounded the horn since its re-creation include: Joe Mauer, Brock Lesnar, Neal Broten, Mardy Fish, Olympian Shawn Johnson, Minnesota Lynx All-Star Lindsay Whalen, Paul Molitor, along with several prominent Vikings alumni.

Zach LaVine will be the second Minnesota Timberwolves representative to sound the horn (Kevin Love – 2011).
