Ricky Rubio Returns To Practice

After being out since Oct. 29 after suffering a sprained right elbow against the Sacramento Kings, Wolves starting point guard Ricky Rubio returned to practice on Friday.

The Wolves play the Clippers on Saturday and the Lakers on Sunday at the Target Center and depending how Rubio feels, there’s a chance he could play in one or both of the games.

“We’ll see how he feels tomorrow,” Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau said. “He moved great (today). . . He practiced very well.”

Thibodeau said the biggest thing the Wolves missed with Rubio out was his ability to organize the team.

“The way he can push the ball, his decision making, team defense . . . He brings a lot of energy,” Thibodeau said.

Last season, Rubio averaged 10.1 points, 8.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.

Rookie guard Kris Dunn and second-year guard Tyus Jones held their own with Rubio out, but the Wolves are better off with a healthy Rubio.

“He’s got a lot of experience,” Karl-Anthony Towns said. “He’s been through a lot of things here. Having a player like that who has experience like that, it’s awesome to have.”

We’ll likely have some sort of update after tomorrow’s shootaround. Stay tuned. Right now, Rubio is officially listed as questionable.
