GARNETT NAMED NBA ALL-DEFENSIVE FIRST TEAM FOR SIXTH CONSECUTIVE SEASON

Timberwolves Garnett named nba all-defensive first team for sixth consecutive season
MINNEAPOIS/ST. PAUL - Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett has been named to the 2004-05 All-Defensive First Team, the National Basketball Association announced earlier today. Garnett was named to the team by a voting panel that consisted of the NBA's 30 head coaches, who were asked to select NBA All-Defensive First and Second Teams by position.

Garnett, who has been named All-Defensive First Team in each of the last six campaigns (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005), is joined by guards Bruce Bowen of the San Antonio Spurs and Larry Hughes of the Washington Wizards, center Ben Wallace of the Detroit Pistons and forward Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs.

The NBA All-Defensive Second Team consists of the Denver Nuggets' Marcus Camby at center, forwards Tayshaun Prince of the Detroit Pistons and Andrei Kirilenko of the Utah Jazz and the New Jersey Nets' Jason Kidd, Detroit's Chauncey Billups and the Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade at guard.

Wallace, who recently was named the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year, led all players in voting, receiving 51 points. Garnett received 48, while Bowen, Duncan and Hughes received 48, 39 and 22 points, respectively.
