With all eyes focused on Kevin Love, the Wolves All-Star finally made it official by passing Moses Malone to become the modern day double-double king.
As Love wasted little time continuing his streak, the Minnesota Timberwolves followed suit by setting the tone early and refusing to let up on the gas pedal to earn a 101-75 victory in dominating fashion.
The Pacers leading scorer Danny Granger couldn’t buy a bucket, and neither could any of his Indiana teammates as the visiting squad shot a horrid 29.6 percent from the floor. Despite the surprisingly strong performance from former North Carolina standout Tyler Hansbrough, the Pacers offensive attack was broken. Without Granger as a viable option, Indiana was out of sync from the tip and began the contest just 2-of-19 from the floor. The dismal Pacers shooting allowed the Timberwolves to jump out to a controlling lead.
After holding a 50-40 advantage at halftime, the Timberwolves exploded out of the locker rooms to open the third quarter with a 10-0 run. As the team chemistry continued to roll, the Wolves quickly put the contest out of reach for the Indiana Pacers. Leader of the Pack:
Despite having to battle through a sore left knee, Kevin Love continued to be his usual self by staying aggressive in the paint. Love refused to let his limited explosiveness and mobility affect him, as he put together another valiant effort of 16 points and 21 rebounds to extend his incredible double-double streak to 52 straight games.
