On This Day | Miller Dished Out 22 Assists

Andre Miller is 39 years old. His best days on the court are behind him. He won’t argue that, but let’s not forget how good Miller once was.

Today (Dec. 15) marks the 14th anniversary of when Miller dished out 22 assists in a 94-91 home loss to the Philadelphia 76ers as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. What made those 22 assists even more impressive was the fact that Miller also finished with 14 points, nine steals and four rebounds. Allen Iverson spoiled Miller’s day, scoring 40 points, shooting 18-for-29.

It marked the first of two 20-assist games for Miller (the second game in 2006 as a member of the Denver Nuggets). He led the league in assists that season with 882. That’s the 29th most a player has dished out in a single season in NBA history.

Miller ranks ninth all-time with 8,473 career assists and first among active players.
