The Phoenix Suns and Southwest Airlines announce Scott Libby Elementary, Riverbend Prep Academy, Desert Valley Elementary and Norterra Canyon School as the “We LUV It Here!” program grant recipients.

Each of the four winning schools will be presented with a grant worth up to $5,000 during a ceremony in the Coors Light Cold Zone prior to the Suns home matchup with the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday, April 7. The presentation will take place at 5:30 p.m., with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.

Each student from the winning fifth grade classrooms will receive a “We LUV It Here!” t-shirt and a ticket to enjoy the Suns-Hornets game that evening.

The Suns and Southwest Airlines partnered to bring the ninth annual “We LUV It Here!” contest to elementary schools in Maricopa County. The cash grants were awarded based on school improvement proposals submitted by fifth grade classrooms at each of the schools. Finalists were selected based on site visits to the schools, and the fifth grade students were then asked to present their plan to the judges.

The Phoenix Suns are proud to celebrate their partnership with Southwest Airlines as the official airline of the Phoenix Suns. The partnership between the Suns and Southwest Airlines includes various community outreach programs.

Single-game tickets are still available for the Suns-Hornets game on April 7. Fans can purchase theirs today at Suns.com or by calling 1-800-4NBA-TIX.
