Pointer Sisters to Headline the "Jump Ball"

Grammy award-winning band, The Pointer Sisters, will headline Phoenix Suns Charities’ 25th anniversary gala, “The Jump Ball,” on Saturday, March 2 at Talking Stick Resort. Guests will also enjoy appearances by the entire Suns team and coaching staff, additional entertainment by comedian Frank Caliendo and DJ Roonie G., dinner, exciting raffle items and much more. The gala will begin at 6 p.m.

The Pointer Sisters have been awarded three Grammy awards from nine nominations, as well as three American Music Awards from four nominations. They have also earned 14 top-thirty singles across the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart, including hits “Jump (For My Love)” and “I’m So Excited.” Eight of their albums have reached the Top Forty of the Billboard 200 pop albums chart, including their hottest-selling album ever, Break Out.

In 1994, The Pointer Sisters had a star placed in their honor on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame and were also inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005. This nationally acclaimed group was also one of the featured acts at the closing ceremonies of the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics.

Caliendo is best known for his humorous sketches on Fox Networks’ MADtv and Fox NFL Sunday, including impersonations of Charles Barkley, commentator John Madden and former President George W. Bush. Two-time Club World Award winner DJ Roonie G. will also be on hand to entertain guests with his own creative blend of audio and visual content.
