Phoenix Suns fans possessing the skill and enthusiasm to be a member of one of the premiere NBA dance teams are encouraged to audition for the 2012-13 Suns Dancers, beginning Saturday, August 11. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel (340 N. 3rd St., Phoenix)
At the conclusion of registration, a preliminary round will begin with learning an across-the-floor technique and audition routine. Dancers will then audition in small groups for a panel of judges.
Successful candidates will be asked to attend the semifinals at US Airways Center on Sunday, August 12. A two-day training camp with finalists will follow, with finals held on Saturday, August 18. The 2012-13 Suns Dancers will be announced on Wednesday, August 22.
Prior to auditions, it is highly recommended that each interested candidate attend one or more prep classes in order to fully prepare for the audition process. Prep classes will be held on July 18, 30 and August 8 at US Airways Center from 6:30– 9:30 p.m., with registration beginning at 6 p.m. Prep classes are $50 each and consist of a group warm-up, across-the-floor combination, stylized combination, freestyle practice, nutrition and fitness instruction, lessons in make-up application and more.
Dancers must be 18 or older to participate, have a high school diploma or GED and bring a non-returnable photo and resume.
