Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(Opening statement)

"I thought we did a good job on [Blake Griffin]. Rounded it out, we couldn’t make a shot early on. We did a really good job defensively and rebounding the basketball. We are playing at home and got to take advantage of every situation as far as playing at home. This is another good win for us against a real quality team."

(On halftime talk)

"I thought that we were getting good shots. I wasn’t really upset. At the end of the day, defensively they had 35 points and were shooting 36 percent. We just couldn’t get the ball in the basket but I thought we were doing everything we needed to do defensively to stay in the game. If we are not going to shoot the ball well then the only thing that can keep us in the game is our defense."

Suns Forward Grant Hill

(On the team’s effective defense)

"Well the defense was good. We did a good job the whole game. We obviously struggled offensively in the first half. Even with the poor performance on the offensive end we still were down three points at halftime and felt pretty good. We knew we would start clicking a little bit better in the second half offensively. For the most part, our defense sustained. Channing (Frye) did a good job, especially on the last few possessions on Blake (Griffin); he made it tough on him. We just showed a little bit of grit and found a way to win. We made a few mistakes down the stretch, a few turnovers here and there that let them get back in the game, but we had enough of a cushion to do what we had to do on the defensive end to get the win."

(On halftime talk)

"We felt good. Like I said, we shot horribly, we had good looks, we had great shots, and they just didn’t go through or go in. We were very encouraging and upbeat that we weren’t going to have another half like that offensively. We were only down three, so let’s stay positive and come out firing in the second half."

Suns Guard Jared Dudley

(On tonight’s game)

"Well it wasn’t pretty, especially early on. It’s been two games at home where we haven’t gotten it going early, but defensively kept us in there. I think we did a good job on Blake (Griffin) and Chris (Paul), the two headed monster you have to stop. Both teams were coming off a back-to-back, but our fans were able to give us a nice little energy boost. The second half and that third quarter we were able to find our stride."

(On big games against LA teams)

"The defense predicates who scores, especially in this system. Steve (Nash) finds whoever. I was more aggressive in the third quarter than I was in the first half (I passed up a lot of shots), but we knew that Steve (Nash) obviously didn’t have his full tank today and we could see that out there. Other guys had to step up and that’s what has to happen. I mean he can carry us, but there has to be other games where other people carry us."

Clippers' Head Coach Vinny DelNegro

(On the game)

"Yeah, I mean we just didn’t shoot it well. You’ve got to find ways. We had an opportunity without shooting it well. Their offensive rebounds hurt us. We didn’t get to the free throw line as much. The play at the end of the game was a difficult one. But you know we just didn’t make enough shots really – we held them to a good field goal percentage, but the defense. I thought we got a little stagnant with our some of our offensive stuff, but we just struggled from the perimeter tonight, we couldn’t make them pay for anything and these types of games you just have to grind out. We made a push in the fourth quarter but we couldn’t capitalize."

Blake Griffin

(On the game)

"We just, I felt like we were dead. We didn’t have it; talking to everybody there wasn’t a lot of energy, but no excuse, they played last night as well. So, we’ve got to find it somehow, on the second night of a back-to-back."

(On both teams’ offensive struggles)

"I’d like to say we played better defense. I think we were solid, but both teams – everybody was missing open shots. It was just kind a combination of both them both (bad shooting and good defense)."

Chris Paul

(On the game)

"I don’t know what it is. I don’t know if it was both of us coming off a game last night. We’re not going to make any excuses or whatever. At the end of the day we gave ourselves the opportunity to win and the toughest thing is you hate to see a great game like that come down to a shot-clock violation foul."

(On the Clippers’ shooting struggles)

"We didn’t make shots. We had a lot of wide open shots tonight, a lot of great looks that we made last night, but tonight we just didn’t make them."
