Hardaway to Graduate from University of Memphis

Phoenix Suns guard Anfernee Hardaway will graduate from the University of Memphis this Sunday, May 11. Hardaway earned his bachelor’s degree in professional studies and the commencement ceremony is at 3 p.m. CDT at The Pyramid in Memphis.

The three-time All-NBA performer and four-time All-Star had his No. 25 Memphis jersey retired at The Pyramid on Jan. 23, 1994 and Hardaway’s college career began with the opening of The Pyramid on Nov. 29, 1991 against DePaul.

Hardaway attended the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis State) beginning in the fall of 1990 and left the school in 1993 following his junior season to enter the NBA Draft. He was selected third in the 1993 NBA Draft by Golden State and traded that day to Orlando, where he played the first six seasons of his NBA career. Phoenix acquired Hardaway on Aug. 5, 1999 and he played the last four seasons with the Suns.
