Following a grueling 53 hours and 45 minutes of dribbling, Mike Ornoski of Glendale prevailed as winner of the 4th Annual “St. Joseph’s Bounce With the Suns” competition, presented by the St. Joseph’s Health & Wealth Raffle, benefitting St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute.
Ornoski outlasted 58 competitors to claim the title, in a contest that began at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning (April 1). For his efforts, Ornoski will receive a road trip for two with the Phoenix Suns during the 2012-13 season. The trip includes air transportation on the Suns’ charter plane, hotel accommodations and game tickets to watch the Suns in action.
“I had no idea what I was getting myself into,” said Ornoski. “It was an awesome experience and I did it all for my son. He was my motivation.”
The entire event was streamed live on Suns.com (54 hours), with more than 24,600 fans logging on to watch from 145 countries spanning over six continents. At the same time, a live chat next to the video offered fans an opportunity to cheer on their favorite competitor, with more than 7,331 fans offering words of support.
In addition to the competition, fans that purchased a Health & Wealth Raffle ticket during the contest were entered into a drawing to win a second road trip for two with the team.
