Now Hiring: Team Business Analyst

Team Business Analyst will be responsible for the evaluation and implementation of a broad range of strategic and financial initiatives that support the business efforts of the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and US Airways Center. Position provides quantitative analysis and data-driven insights on subjects including team pricing decisions, Yield Management, customer lead scoring, attendance forecasting, market segmentation, campaign & program performance and sponsorship valuation.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze team ticket sales, attendance and pricing
    • Perform forecasting and trend analysis on team ticket sales
    • Utilize primary and secondary market ticket data to make pricing recommendations
  • Develop and assist team marketing and business operations functions to help:
    • Increase paid ticket sales, sponsorship revenue, sponsor activation, in-arena attendance
    • Improve retention strategy, marketing, advertising and branding
  • Create ongoing team benchmark reports for ticket sales
  • Determine “market” ticket prices and predict primary ticket sales
  • Responsible for providing projected sales data to the sales management team: project upcoming new sales based on sales rep inputs into the CRM; determine best lead sources, reps, products; and create strategy to optimize the opportunity for success
  • Development and ongoing management of business analytics projects including:
    • Ticket pricing, inventory management and revenue maximization
    • Ticket sales forecasting and goal setting
    • STH loyalty, at-risk scorecard and retention analytics
    • Customer research studies across all segments (i.e. survey creation and analysis)
    • New business/project evaluation
  • Support in evaluation, creation and strategy for new ticketing, marketing and customer service products & initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned, including being the overall ticketing consultant, support work process improvement, perform survey analysis and ad-hoc financial modeling, e-marketing analysis, and create partial plans game mix

    Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong quantitative, financial and modeling skills
  • Analytical; creative, effective problem-solving abilities
  • Strong presentation skills & experience creating executive–level PowerPoint presentations and performance metric dashboards
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently and as part of a team within all levels of the company
  • Must have exceptional skills working with large databases and MS Office products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Ticketmaster Archtics database or micros & CRM is helpful. Ability to work with Dynamic Pricing software vendor
  • Experience with SQL DB 2008, MS SQL Reporting Services 2005/2008 & SPSS analytical software, visual studio
  • Experience building sophisticated spreadsheets and utilization of advanced analytical techniques in Excel
  • Experience with development and execution of customer retention strategies
  • Strong work ethic, interest in emerging marketing trends and ability to manage time between multiple projects

    Qualifications Needed:

  • 3-5 years experience at a major, top-tier management consulting, finance, hospitality or airline firm
  • Sports or Entertainment industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree
