Suns Player of the Week (Nov. 16-22)

Every Monday, Suns.com's Matt Petersen hands out his Suns Player of the Week award based on the previous seven-day stretch. Stats are always a good indicator, but other factors can also come into play (intangible impact, game-swinging spurts, etc.). The runner-up is also included because often, that second guy's impact was just as impressive as the first's.

Player of the Week — Brandon Knight

Knight Pours in 38

If he gets space, it's going in. That seems to be the Law of Knight less than a month into the season. The newer half of the Suns' backcourt continues to spit fire from three-point range after a week that saw him hit 12-of-26 from downtown. Half of those makes came in Phoenix's comeback win at Denver.

Knight is now averaging a robust line of 21.7 points, 5.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 40.7 percent from three on the season. Oh yeah, and he's already set a new career-high in scoring twice while logging one of the best triple-doubles (30/15/10 against the Lakers) of all time.

Runner-Up Player of the Week — Eric Bledsoe

Bledsoe's Four-Point Play

Games in which Eric Bledsoe scores less than 20 points are fast becoming extinct. The 6-1 guard has cleared that mark in eight consecutive games, including Sunday's 29-point gem that included an 11-for-12 showing from the free throw line.

Bledsoe is getting it done on both ends, blasting his previous career-high averages in points (23.2 ppg) and steals (2.0 spg). Only three other players average at least those amounts in those categories, and all three were MVP candidates last season: James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry.
