Phoenix Suns Charities is pleased to announce that Suns’ Ring of Honor members Charles Barkley and Kevin Johnson will attend the Charities’ 25th anniversary gala, “The Jump Ball,” on Saturday, March 2 at Talking Stick Resort. The gala is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Barkley and Johnson, members of the Suns’ 1992-1993 NBA Finals team, will attend the event as special guests of Phoenix Suns Charities. Barkley, who greatly contributed to Suns Charities during his playing days with the team, will be on hand to celebrate the 25th anniversary as well as participate in a playful skit with renowned comedian, Frank Caliendo, who regularly impersonates the former MVP and Suns legend.
Johnson, who was team captain of the 1988 Suns’ team, the same year Phoenix Suns Charities was founded, will be named an “Honorary Co-Chair” of the gala along with his former coach, the late Cotton Fitzsimmons. Johnson and Fitzsimmons participated in many of the first Phoenix Suns Charities’ events and fundraisers. Fitzsimmons’ wife, JoAnn, will represent the former Suns’ coach at the event.
Guests attending the gala will enjoy appearances by the entire Suns team and coaching staff, as well as entertainment by Grammy award-winning group, The Pointer Sisters, Caliendo and DJ Roonie G.
