NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans today announced that the team has traded forward Luke Babbitt to the Miami Heat in exchange for a future conditional second-round draft pick and cash considerations.
Babbitt was originally signed by New Orleans on February 4, 2014. In three seasons with New Orleans, Babbitt appeared in 137 games (34 starts), averaging 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per contest.
Drafted in the first round (16th overall) in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves out of Nevada, Babbitt has appeared in 263 career regular season games (38 starts) with Portland and New Orleans, averaging 4.7 points and 2.3 rebounds.
