CST to Broadcast 65 Hornets Games in 2011-12

December 7, 2011

The New Orleans Hornets and 24-hour regional sports network Cox Sports Television have announced the 2011-12 broadcast schedule that will feature 65 live regular season home and away Hornets games.

“We are thrilled that 100% of our games will be televised this year with CST covering 65 of 66 and the lone exception being the national TV game on TNT in April,” said Hornets President Hugh Weber.

The schedule, which includes all 33 home games and 32 road games, begins with the Monday, Dec. 26 road opener against the Phoenix Suns and concludes with the last game of the regular season on Thursday, Apr. 26 at the Houston Rockets.

"Cox Sports Television is thrilled to be entering into our tenth season of Hornets basketball" stated CST head Rod Mickler. "The Hornets fans across the Gulf South can’t wait for another year of basketball on the highest level and we can't wait to tip-off our exclusive 65 game schedule on December 26!"

Highlights of the schedule include an early look at the Boston Celtics trio of Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in the Hornets’ home opener on Dec. 28, the lone road game against the World Champion Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 7, the only game against the Miami Heat trio of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh on Jan. 30, all three games against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers (Mar. 14, Mar. 31, Apr. 9) and all four series matchups against division foes Memphis and San Antonio.

Bob Licht and Gil McGregor return to their duties as play-by-play and color analyst, with Victor Howell continuing his role as sideline reporter in 2011. Licht begins his seventh year with CST, while McGregor will call his 24th season of Hornets basketball. Howell begins his third season as sideline reporter and host of Hornets Tonight!, a 30-minute pregame show.

Additional Hornets programming on CST includes Hornets Insider and Hornets Coaches Report. Hornets Insider gives fans a monthly look behind the scenes of the organization, while head coach Monty Williams gives fans a weekly backstage pass to the team and their preparation for each game throughout the season on Hornets Coaches Report.
