BASKETBALL SUPERSTAR CHRIS PAUL LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITES WWW.CHRISPAUL3.COM AND WWW.CP3FOUNDATION.ORG
January 19, 2011
New Orleans Hornet point guard and humanitarian Chris Paul, one of the NBA’s premiere players, announced today the unveiling of his redesigned website www.chrispaul3.com, as well as the launch of www.cp3foundation.org, the virtual destination of his non-profit organization, the CP3 Foundation. Chrispaul3.com was enhanced in direct response to what Paul’s fans have asked for and is now much easier to navigate, with recent news and key content readily accessible. Additionally, Paul has developed a separate website, www.cp3foundation.org, for the foundation, where visitors can learn about the various efforts in promoting health, education, sports and social responsibility that the organization is making and ways in which they can support.
With even more enhancements planned for the future, both websites are utilizing better technologies to offer Paul’s fans and supporters the best possible experience. In addition to the introduction of the CP3 Foundation website, Chrispaul3.com now features the most updated NBA standings for the Hornets and the Southwest Division, as well as Paul’s latest Twitter updates.
Paul hopes that the new and improved websites will provide a greater opportunity for others to keep in touch with him. “Staying connected to the people who support and inspire me, on and off the court, is very important to me,” he says. “In addition to sharing my experiences as a member of the New Orleans Hornets, I hope to inspire other people to support my charitable endeavors.”
About Chris Paul & the CP3 Foundation
Chris Paul, point guard for the New Orleans Hornets, has proven himself time and again both on and off the court. An All-American at Wake Forest University, he was selected fourth overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Hornets and in his first season was named Rookie of the Year, receiving 124 of the 125 first place votes.
As an integral part of Team USA, Chris earned a Bronze medal at the 2006 World Championships in Japan, then went on to win a Gold medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Arguably the NBA’s best point guard, Chris has emerged as a team leader and as the face of the Hornets franchise. Sports critics, coaches and basketball fans around the world praise Paul’s innate understanding of the game, but it is his business savvy that has led to dozens of lucrative partnerships, including a deal with Jordan Brand, a division of NIKE, Inc., where he has his own basketball shoe and clothing line. He is one of only four athletes in the world (together with Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Derek Jeter) to have his own signature shoe with the brand. ) Jordan Brand recently released a fourth second Chris Paul sneaker.
He is also one of sports most well-loved and recognizable figures, being named by People magazine as one of their "50 Most Beautiful" in 2006 and honored by GQ as one of their "Men of the Year" in 2008.
In 2005, Chris established the CP3 Foundation in partnership with the Winston-Salem Foundation in honor of his late grandfather and the Winston-Salem community, both of whom nurtured him and helped him to become the man that he is today. The foundation, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the last five years, focuses on enriching the communities of Winston-Salem, New Orleans and Oklahoma City through initiatives including the Nathaniel Jones Scholarship Fund, named in memory of Chris’ grandfather, and outreach programs including food donations, computer donations to underserved schools and the refurbishment of basketball courts.
