For a second straight week, all three websites who released Monday power polls were in agreement about the Hornets, tabbing them as the No. 7 squad out of 30 NBA teams. Seven days earlier, the sites listed New Orleans fifth:NBA.com (7th, down 2 spots): “Failed tests against the Lakers and Magic this week show that the Hornets still have work to do to get back to the level of last season. They almost lost a third game this week, but Chris Paul took charge down the stretch and David West hit the game-winner Sunday in Indiana.”ESPN.com (7th, down 2 spots): “On second thought, we're worried about the Hornets again after they got bullied at home by the Lakers for the second time, then looked as if they didn't even want to be out there on Christmas Day in Orlando.”SI.com (7th, down 2 spots): “Not a great week in the Big Easy. A double-digit loss to the Lakers was followed by a lackluster blowout to the Magic on Christmas, the latter spelling the end of Chris Paul's record streak of 108 games with a steal. "We struggle against smart basketball teams," power forward David West said.”
