Pacers "Go Green" With Republic Services

INDIANAPOLIS – In celebration of the NBA's year-long "Green" initiative, the Indiana Pacers have partnered with Republic Services for a "Green Week" of activities slated for March 21-25. NBA Green is a league-wide program that generates awareness and funds for protecting the environment and promoting sustainable practices. Through NBA Green, the league, its teams and players are taking steps to be more environmentally friendly and encourage fans to get involved in local greening initiatives.

The Pacers will feature an in-game Parachute Drop at their game on Monday, Mar. 21 with Philadelphia. Included in the parachutes dropped from the inside roof of Bankers Life Fieldhouse will be a reusable coffee sleeve, Pacers confetti seeds, a Kroger Recycle bag and a pair of NBA Cares gardening gloves. In addition, members of the Pacers Sideline Soldiers will be tossing out "Pacers Green" t-shirts to fans during a selected timeout.

For the entire month of March the Pacers and Republic Services are using social media to alert fans to Go Green tips via twitter on @PacersCares and @RepublicService. On Mar. 21 and Mar. 24, three trivia questions will be featured each day at @PacersCares. Five fans with the correct answer will be selected from a random drawing to win tickets to the Pacers game each of the nights.

On Tuesday, Mar. 22, the Pacers will partner with Growing Places Indy for a Day of Service at the Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center. Pacers staff will volunteer their time and talents to help cultivate the culture of urban agriculture and healthy lifestyles in Indy.
