Q: “How has the meaning of basketball changed for you after playing for one of the top programs in the nation?”
A: “It’s changed a lot. It’s put a ton of things into perspective. Seeing what Duke has done in the past along with the culture that coach Krzyzewski has built and the way he uses basketball to influence so many things outside of the game really has changed the meaning for me. It’s a great game, but you can also use the game to impact so many people’s lives.”
Q: “While playing under coach Krzyzewski what was the biggest lesson you learned?”
A: “Just mentally how to approach the game. He’s seen a lot of players and helped them grow, so for me to just see the way he approaches everyday having already accomplished so much himself was huge. Just staying hungry and humble means so much.”
Q: “While preparing for draft day what’s your main focus going into these workouts?”
A: “Just trying to give it my all and putting my best foot forward. To let these organizations know what type of player and person I am on and off the court. Also, to absorb all the information I can and to have fun.”
Q: “If you could give young kids three keys to success what would you say has brought you this far?”
A: “First have fun. You have to enjoy the game, of course it’s a serious game in which you can make a lot of money because it’s a business, but at the end of the day it’s just a game. Second, stay humble and hungry. Never get satisfied or complacent and keep in mind that you can always get better, and once you are better don’t get cocky or arrogant. And the third thing I would say is use basketball as a tool in your life. It can get you a college scholarship and it can help you travel the world, so just use it in that sense to open your eyes to the world around you.”
Q: “If drafted by Denver, how do you see yourself fitting into this team?”
A: “I think I would fit in great. I can adjust to any type of system with the versatility in my game, which will allow for me to come in and make an immediate impact.”
