Prospect Q&A: Josh Adams

What do you want the Nuggets organization or Denver fans to know about you?
I’m a hometown kid. I grew up in South Denver, Parker. It would be a dream come true to come and play here, to play in the blue and yellow. I grew up coming to games at Pepsi Center. If I do come here, I’m looking to give everything I have to the state and to the team.

What’s your focus coming into these workouts?
Showing them I can play that point guard spot, showing them I can get other guys involved, showing them I can pass the ball and really have a high intensity on the defensive end.

If you are drafted by the Nuggets, how do you see yourself fitting into the current roster?
I think I can fit in pretty well. I’m not a guy who’s going to complain about not getting enough minutes, not getting enough shots. The coaching staff is here for a reason, the veterans are here for a reason. I’m a fan of a lot of guys on this team. Whatever they need me to do, whether it’s 30 seconds or 30 minutes, I’m going to do the best I can.

Who would you compare your game to in the NBA?
A guy with similar style and similar size would be Eric Bledsoe from Phoenix. He’s maybe a little bit stockier but we play with the same kind of game. He’s pretty explosive so we see a lot of comparisons there.

You were a complete player at Wyoming. How do you see yourself being able to contribute at the next level?
You know, it’s all about fitting into the roster. I did those things at Wyoming because that’s what the team asked of it and I did it to the best of my ability. So, just doing whatever they need me to do. If it’s ‘Josh, go get three assists’ or ‘Give DJ Augustin a break’, I’m going to go do that.

What would you say will be your biggest challenge at the next level?
I think it would be playing with pace. Just finding that role, it’s easy to say ‘I’ll fit in fine’, you really got to work hard to establish yourself and fit in with the guys on the team.
