Nuggets Pre-Draft Workout Preview: June 5

The Denver Nuggets will host two more pre-draft workouts on Friday, June 5. The morning session will highlight six prospects: two forwards and four guards.

Darion Atkins, a 6’8” power forward out of Virginia, put himself on the map this past season and was named the Lefty Driesel and ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

From the University of Kentucky, Devin Booker is a 6’6” guard widely regarded as one of the top shooters in college basketball last season.

Standing at 6’9”, Wisconsin’s Sam Dekker helped his team reach the national championship game this past season. NBA.com projects him to be a versatile offensive threat at the next level.

Jerian Grant, a 6’5” guard from Notre Dame, brings size, experience and versatility. He averaged 6.7 APG last season.

Another guard, the 6’4” Pierria Henry, was named to Conference USA’s 2014-15 All-Defensive team.

Sir’Dominic Pointer, St. John’s 6’6” shooting guard, was named the Big East’s Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of the Year last season.

The second session, Friday afternoon, will feature Stanley Johnson, the 6’7” small forward from Arizona. Johnson is projected by ESPN.com to be drafted 11th in the upcoming 2015 NBA Draft. Speed and power are Johnson’s strengths, and Fran Fraschilla called him “a bully on the basketball court.”
