Nuggets Players Volunteer on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

A day for big dreams is a cause for big celebration.

Denver Nuggets' players Will Barton, Kenneth Faried, Gary Harris and J.J. Hickson spent this year’s NBA national day of service at Denver's Sunset Senior Center for Volunteers of America 31st Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: “A Dinner for Those Who Hunger”.

The Volunteers of America Association has been assisting those in need since 1896, focusing on some of the most vulnerable groups such as at-risk youth, the elderly, low-income families, and the homeless.

The 2016 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration was filled with vibrant tunes as live music from several of Denver’s jazz, gospel and R&B music groups, including performing artist and producer Sheryl Renee, packed the room with dancing feet.

In honor of this historical moment in American history, Nuggets players gave back to the community and served up a homemade barbecue dinner to the homeless attendees.
