DENVER, Oct. 11, 2015 – The Denver Nuggets have exercised the third-year options on guard Gary Harris and center Jusuf Nurkić for the 2016-17 season, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly announced today.
Harris, the 19th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game as a rookie in 2014-15. He is averaging 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.67 steals while shooting .500 (5-10 3FG) from beyond the arc through the Nuggets’ first three preseason games.
Nurkić, the 16th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, averaged 6.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.10 blocks in 17.8 minutes per game as a rookie in 2014-15 and earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
Harris and Nurkić were acquired by Denver in a draft-night trade with Chicago on June 26, 2014.
