Annual Mile High Dreams Gala - A Toast to Our Teams January 11, 2016

Kroenke Sports Charities will host its annual Mile High Dreams Gala – A Toast to Our Teams from 7-10 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016 on the KeyBank Club Level at Pepsi Center. This cocktail event offers fans a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with players, coaches, mascots, and dancers from the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rapids and Colorado Mammoth.

“A lot of times we’re out there on the court and the fans don’t get to interact with us. Seeing them face to face, letting them sit down next to us while we’re playing cards, I think that’s pretty cool,” said Denver Nuggets guard Randy Foye.

The Mile High Dreams Gala, originally known as Chopper’s Dinner, has been an integral event for Kroenke Sports Charities since the early ’90s. The purpose has remained the same since the beginning: To raise money for the kids.

“Hands down the best part about this event is it’s a charity event. We’re raising money for a good cause and our fans get to come out and meet all of our players,” Nuggets and Avalanche President and Governor, Josh Kroenke, stated. “Not only do we have really good players, we have great people. I think this event is a chance for the fans to really get know those guys as people.”

All proceeds from the Gala will benefit education, health and fitness programs in Colorado supported by Kroenke Sports Charities. In 2014 alone, the Mile High Dreams Galas impressively raised over $185,000 in support of Denver Public Schools Denver Prep League, Colorado Adaptive Sports Foundation, Special Olympics Colorado, and the Gold Grown Foundation.

This year, the exciting evening will be filled with music, games, events, and prizes you won’t want to miss! Get ready for live music from Colorado Avalanche’s DJ Craig, dancing, and gaming tables including blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, and poker.

“It’s one of the best events every year,” said Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog. “It’s very low key, laid back, and for us as players to interact with fans this way, it’s a lot of fun.”

Plenty of food and libation pairings donated by 30 great partners from some of the best restaurants in Denver will be available to all attending guests.

Colorado Mammoth veteran forward, John Grant Jr., reflects on his enjoyment of the Gala.

“It’s one of the better events as Mammoth. We get to meet coworkers and rub elbows with the fans.”

The night wouldn’t be complete without two photo stations to capture the many memorable moments of the night, an auction to win several autographed items or a Leopold Brothers Distillery Tour, and a chance to win a 5050 Raffle with tickets sold by the Avalanche Ice Girls.

In addition to the many fun-times the Gala has to offer, there will be a special viewing of the Alabama vs. Clemson NCAA Football Championship game in the Peak Pub House.

“I think seeing everybody in the Kroenke organization together. The players, the coaches, and everybody here supporting it,” said Chris Sharpe, Colorado Rapids assistant coach of goalkeeping, on his favorite part of the night.

The Mile High Dreams Gala is your chance to get to know Denver’s athletes, coaching staff, dancers, mascots and guest appearances by team alumni off the court, ice, and field in a relaxed atmosphere you won’t find any place else.
