DND Spotlight: Kelsey

Kelsey, known as Kels by her friends and family, is in her second season as a Denver Nuggets Dancer (DND).

“I love that I have a second family with my teammates and coaches,” said Kelsey. “When you see everyone almost every day you form a lifelong bond.”

Originally from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, she is honored to represent her home-state NBA team for another season.

“I am so happy to be back out on the court and in the community!” Exclaimed Kelsey. “I also enjoy performing and sharing my passion with the fans and my team.”

Even as a second-year Nuggets Dancer, this Rocky Mountain native still gets excited to perform center court for Nuggets fans.

She has made many unforgettable memories along the way, but one of her all-time favorite moments was when she traveled to Montreal to represent the Nuggets organization and promote the NBA All-Star 2016 Game.

"It was so cool to be in Canada, represent the organization, dance and interact with the people there,” recalled Kelsey.

She has been dancing for 19 years, bringing her experienced training in tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, pom, lyrical and point to the DND.

“My earliest memory of dance was when I did a tap routine for a recital dancing to Singing in the Rain," recalled Kelsey. "I got to wear a bright yellow coat in a solo. I was so excited!”

When this veteran hangs up her dancing shoes, Kelsey hits the library to study marketing at a university located in downtown Denver. She also likes to spend time with her loved ones and exercise.

“When I’m not dancing, I like to hang out with my family,” Kelsey explained. “I try to stay in shape as well.”

Hardworking and dedicated, she lives by the phrase, “Fall seven times and stand up eight.”
