Orlando Magic Sign Shelvin Mack

ORLANDO – The Orlando Magic have signed free agent veteran guard Shelvin Mack, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.

“Shelvin brings veteran experience and depth to our backcourt,” Weltman said. “We are excited to welcome him and his family to the Magic organization.”

Mack (6’3”, 203, 4/22/90) appeared in 55 games (nine starts) with Utah during the 2016-17 season, averaging 7.8 ppg., 2.3 rpg. and 2.8 apg. in 21.9 minutes per contest. He has appeared in 30 career postseason games, including nine this past season with the Jazz. In three playoff starts, he averaged 14.3 ppg., 4.0 rpg., 3.7 apg. and 1.0 stlpg. in 30.7 minpg. while shooting 54.5 percent from 3-point range.

In his six-year NBA career, Mack has appeared in 330 games (50 starts) for Utah, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Washington. Prior to the NBA, Mack spent three years at Butler, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to consecutive National Championship appearances in 2010 and 2011 before being selected in the second round (34th overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards.
