Orlando, FL -- The new-look Orlando Magic, a team dramatically different with its personnel and its head coach, will make its preseason debut on the road for two games before playing at the Amway Center on Oct. 12.
A Magic squad with seven newcomers and new head coach Frank Vogel will open preseason play at Memphis and Cleveland on Oct. 3 and 5. Orlando’s home debut will come on Oct. 12 when it hosts the San Antonio Spurs.
The Magic released their preseason schedule on Monday, one that will see them play seven exhibition games prior to the start of the regular season. Orlando will play four exhibition games at the Amway Center and three preseason games on the road.
The NBA’s regular-season schedule is expected to be released next week. The Magic’s complete schedule will be available next week on OrlandoMagic.com.
Orlando opens training camp on September 27 at Amway Center. The Magic traded for power forward Serge Ibaka and shooting guards Jodie Meeks and Chris Wilcox, signed center Bismack Biyombo, forward Jeff Green and point guard D.J. Augustin and drafted center Stephen Zimmerman.
Vogel, who spent 5½ seasons as Indiana’s head coach prior to taking over in Orlando on May 20, will face the Pacers on Oct. 14 at the Amway Center.
Orlando will also play home preseason games against Dwight Howard and the Atlanta Hawks on Oct. 16 and Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans on Oct. 20. The Magic’s final road preseason game will be in Miami on Oct. 18.
