Ranking NBA's Best Shooting Guards in 2016‑17 Season
1 / 12OrlandoMagic.com’s Josh Cohen ranks the best shooting guards in 2016-17. Click through this gallery for full rankings. Honorable Mentions Dwyane Wade – If his name wasn’t Dwyane Wade, we’d either ignore the things he did well or be very impressed with him (especially at his age and with his recent injuries). He was solid in his first year with the Bulls but probably too ordinary to put him in the top 10. J.J. Redick – He’s still one of the most reliable 3-point shooters in the business. While not nearly as automatic as last season when he shot an incredible 47.5 percent, Redick was still one of the top 3-point shooters this year (43 percent). Dion Waiters – A sprained ankle ended his season prematurely. However, he was impressive prior to the injury and his best performance came against the Warriors when he erupted for 33 points and buried a game-winning 3-pointer. Victor Oladipo – He had some good stretches throughout the season. He even buried a game winner against the Wolves late in the year. But, it does look like he’s hit his peak. Gary Harris – He battled through injuries all year but managed to finish strong. Harris scored 20 points or more seven times in the last four weeks of the season. Buddy Hield – He was only in the headlines when the DeMarcus Cousins trade happened. But, Hield also was solid on the court in his rookie year (43 percent from 3-point range with Kings). Jamal Murray – It was an up and down first year for Murray but the flashes he showed gave many the belief that he will transform into a very good player. Nicolas Batum - The switch to shooting guard didn't really elevate his production and impact. But, Batum did average career highs in points and assists.
