Harkless scored 16 points on five of eight shooting to lead the Magic (1-2) to their first win of the preseason. Harkless was a regular at the Magic’s headquarters of the summer, working to better his body and his game. And now the positives are showing in big ways for the second-year player.

``It’s not much of an adjustment because the offense that we run the shooting guard and the small forward are pretty much the same thing,’’ Harkless said. ``We were struggling just to score (early in the third quarter) so I wanted to get some easy baskets and get to the free throw line. I had to do something to get us going.’’

Harkless wasn’t the only Magic player making an adjustment on Monday night. Rookie Victor Oladipo, the No. 2 pick in last June’s NBA Draft, got the first start of his NBA career and delivered a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes. Also, Tobias Harris got his first start of the preseason and added another 12 points in 25 minutes.
