OrlandoMagic.com’s Josh Cohen opens up a debate on intriguing topics on the Magic and the entire NBA.
Starting a Franchise Draft
Barring a stunning decision by the voters, Kevin Durant is expected to earn his first MVP award this season. He was spectacular all year with career-best averages of 32 points and 5.5. assists per game.
And while there are a few obscure options for runner-up, including Blake Griffin, Paul George and Joakim Noah, it’s likely LeBron James will finish second. James has already won four MVPs and two straight with the Heat.
If there was a franchise draft and you had the first overall pick, who would you select, LeBron or KD? Considering you need to strategize for the present and future, age would inevitably be a factor. Durant is four years younger than James. However, LeBron is far more established and championship-proven.
