WHY FOR NUGGETS?

Cohen’s Analysis: When Denver traded Carmelo Anthony in 2011 it decided it is best to avoid a complete rebuild. The Nuggets acquired an assemblage of quality role players, including Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler and Timofey Mozgov, and instituted a high-octane offensive method. And despite changing coaches recently, Denver remains reputable for its exceptional fast-paced play and its ability to push the pace in transition.

The problem, however, as demonstrated in last season’s playoffs when they were eliminated in the First Round is that when the game slows down they can’t adapt. Denver’s half-court execution is too fragile.

Though it would be a somewhat significant risk considering he will be an unrestricted free agent in 2015, Kevin Love would drastically help change that approach and give the Nuggets a formidable one-two punch with he and Ty Lawson.
