Cohen’s Analysis: Nikola Vucevic caught just about everyone off guard last year. Initially assumed to be a toss-in in the four-team blockbuster Dwight Howard trade, Vucevic quickly disregarded those postulations and proved to be an exceptional rebounder and pick-and-pop offensive player.

It was his concentration to not only expand his overall offensive repertoire but also become more reliable on defense.

So far it appears all that hard work and commitment is working. Nik has added more finesse and creativity to his low-post game and he has been far more stifling on the defensive end. He was superb matching up against Howard on Wednesday and was tenacious in his duel with Marc Gasol on Friday.
