The Philadelphia 76ers will receive the New Orleans’ Pelicans First Round pick in 2014 IF it is outside the top 5. If the Pelicans happen to select in the top five for the next six seasons, this condition will continue all the way up until 2019. If that were to happen, New Orleans will only have to convey a pair of Second Round picks to Philadelphia in 2019 and 2020.

HOW IT HAPPENED: It was agreed to as part of the Jrue Holiday and Nerlens Noel swap from last June’s NBA Draft.

ANALYSIS: Barring something statistically unforeseen, the Sixers will likely get the Pelicans’ First Round pick this year. And this will certainly help Philly in its rebuild plans.
