Deng Doubtful for Friday Exhibition

Luol Deng is considered doubtful to play in Friday's preseason game against Denver due to a bruised left knee.

The new Laker bumped knees with fellow wing Anthony Brown in Thursday's practice, potentially leaving an opening in Friday's starting lineup.

Deng scored eight points with two rebounds in 16 minutes as the starting small forward in Tuesday's preseason opener against Sacramento.

Second-overall pick Brandon Ingram filled in for Deng in the second unit, tallying two points on 0-for-5 shooting, and will potentially start against the Nuggets.

Other candidates include Brown, who sealed the win over the Kings by hitting all four of his shots toward 10 points in only seven minutes.

Small forwards Metta World Peace and Nick Young might also see playing time after sitting Tuesday's game, and head coach Luke Walton could experiment with his lineup, such as playing Julius Randle or Larry Nance Jr. at the three.
