Utah Jazz Host Military Appreciation Night Nov. 7

SALT LAKE CITY (November 5, 2015) – The Utah Jazz will pay tribute to active and retired service men, women and families during Military Appreciation Night, presented by Orbital ATK, on Saturday, Nov. 7. The team will take on the Memphis Grizzlies at Vivint Smart Home Arena at 7 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The night’s activities will include a special video featuring Jazz Head Coach Quin Snyder and Orbital ATK executives thanking military personnel and veterans for their service; a halftime re-enlistment ceremony on center court for 30 members from the U.S. Army Reserve; recognition for each branch of the military during a quarter break; and Jazz players wearing special “Hoops for Troops” apparel, including shooting shirts and socks during the game.

Fans will be invited to participate in a crowd sing-along of the National Anthem, when 24 children of veterans, who are served by military programs at the National Ability Center in Park City, will join the Jazz players on court.

Fans can stop by portals J and T on the main concourse to sign thank you cards for military members stationed overseas. They can also visit the Jazz “Shout Out” booth, located near portal X, to record special ‘thank you’ messages for military members, which may be shown on the video boards during the game.

More than 1,000 tickets have been donated to active service men and women, courtesy of the Utah Jazz and Orbital ATK. A special ticket offer for military families and friends is available at www.utahjazz.com, using the code “MILITARY.” Tickets start at $15 and include a free hot dog.

Military Appreciation Night is part of the NBA’s league-wide Hoops for Troops Week (Nov. 3-11).
