Titled “Coaching Legend Jerry Sloan,” the show will air at 8 p.m. on Jan. 28 with rebroadcasts on Saturday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 8 at 9 p.m. KJZZ broadcasts on channel 14 over the air and for Dish and DirecTV subscribers and on Comcast channels 3 (SD) and 657 (HD).

The show will chronicle the 23-year Jazz coaching career of Sloan from 1988-2011, finishing with the third most wins in NBA history (1,221-803), sixth best winning percentage (.603) all time (min. 500 wins), two NBA Finals appearances (1997 and 1998) and seven division titles. He also guided the Jazz to 16 consecutive winning seasons and thirteen 50-win seasons. His span at the helm of the Jazz remains the longest tenure of any coach in NBA history. Now a senior basketball adviser with the Jazz, Sloan is currently in his 30th season with the franchise.

Interviews with a who’s who of NBA coaches and players will be interwoven with highlights and memorable moments from Jazz basketball, including comments from David Stern, Gregg Popovich, Pat Riley, Charles Barkley, Glenn “Doc” Rivers, Doug Collins, Shaquille O’Neal and fellow Jazz retired jersey honorees Frank Layden, “Hot” Rod Hundley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Jeff Hornacek and Mark Eaton.

The salute to Sloan is the fourth of six programs airing on KJZZ during the 2013-14 season. Previous shows featured a pre-season look at this year’s Utah Jazz team, a profile on head coach Tyrone Corbin and his participation in the NBA’s “Basketball without Borders” camp, and a “Season of Giving” program on efforts by the Jazz and Larry H. Miller Group of Companies to assist the community during the holidays.

The Jazz broadcasting team – featuring Craig Bolerjack, Matt Harpring, Alema Harrington, Thurl Bailey, Phil Johnson, David Locke, Ron Boone and Steve Brown -- contributes to the series of shows, giving Jazz fans a unique perspective on the team from the court to the locker room and into the community.

Jazz tickets for the Sloan retirement celebration on Jan. 31 at halftime of the game against the Golden State Warriors are available now through utahjazz.com, the EnergySolutions Arena box office and by calling (801) 355-SEAT.
