Utah Jazz Announce 2015-16 Broadcast Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY (September 15, 2015) – The Utah Jazz announced today the local television and radio broadcast schedule for the team’s 2015-16 season. Jazz fans will again be able to tune in to ROOT SPORTS and The Zone Sports Network for game coverage.

“We are excited to again have ROOT SPORTS and The Zone broadcast our regular season home and away games,” said Randy Rigby, Utah Jazz president. “We feel our veteran television and radio broadcasters are the best in the business to give our fans in-depth coverage and analysis of the game.”

ROOT SPORTS begins its 27th consecutive season broadcasting Jazz games and is the official television partner for the Utah Jazz. They will air 81 regular season contests and four preseason games, including Oct. 4 and Oct. 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers in Hawaii, Oct. 12 vs. Portland Trail Blazers and Oct. 20 at Oklahoma City Thunder. All games will be shown in high definition. Utah Jazz games are available on ROOT SPORTS in both the Rocky Mountain and Northwest regions, including Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and portions of Nevada. Games are also available out of market via a subscription to NBA League Pass.

“After a strong finish last season, the Jazz fan base is clearly energized and excited for what’s to come,” said David Woodman, General Manager of ROOT SPORTS Rocky Mountain region. “We are happy to be a part of bringing Jazz basketball to fans throughout the team’s home television territory.”

Emmy Award-winning play-by-play broadcaster Craig Bolerjack begins his 11th year as the television voice of the Jazz. For the sixth consecutive season, Bolerjack will team up with analyst and former Jazzman Matt Harpring for the majority of the ROOT SPORTS telecasts. Harpring played 12 NBA seasons, including eight with the Jazz (2002-10), and is entering his sixth season as the TV analyst for the Jazz. Longtime ABA/NBA player and former Jazzman Ron Boone will return to the Jazz for his 28th season with the franchise and continue to appear on telecasts for select games, while Steve Brown will once again serve as the sideline reporter on the home broadcasts.

All ROOT SPORTS telecasts will feature a 30-minute pre- and postgame show, along with a halftime show. Host Alema Harrington will be joined by former Jazzman Thurl Bailey, longtime Jazz assistant coach Phil Johnson, and Boone.

In addition to the local telecasts, one Jazz game will air exclusively on TNT (Feb. 25), while two other games will be broadcast on ESPN and three on NBA TV as part of the NBA’s national television schedule.

The Zone Sports Network enters its fourth season broadcasting Jazz games on 1280 AM and 97.5 FM and is the exclusive radio home of the Jazz. They will air all preseason and regular season games starting Oct. 4.

David Locke, radio voice of the Jazz, will call the action for his seventh season, while Boone will team with Locke for the sixth straight season as the radio analyst. Former University of Utah star Britton Johnsen will join Spence Checketts, Tony Parks and Jake Scott to host the Jazz pregame, halftime and postgame radio shows.

The 2015-16 season will also mark the fifth straight year the Jazz will carry a Spanish radio broadcast. Play-by-play man Nelson Moran will team with analyst Isidro Lopez to call the action on 1600 AM (KTUB), while Nicole Hernandez will serve as the courtside reporter for home broadcasts.
