Jazz Name Linda Luchetti Vice President of Basketball Operations

SALT LAKE CITY (October 27, 2015) – The Utah Jazz announced today that Linda Luchetti has been named vice president of basketball operations. The longtime Larry H. Miller Group of Companies executive and sports industry veteran joins the Jazz front office in a senior management position and will report directly to general manager Dennis Lindsey.

“We are very pleased to be able to add someone of Linda’s character and caliber to a leadership role within basketball operations,” said Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey. “I am confident that her vision and wealth of experience both within the company and externally will prove her to be a valuable addition to the Jazz.”

Luchetti brings to the Jazz more than 30 years of experience in media relations, marketing, community relations, philanthropic work and event management, much of it within the sports realm. She has worked for the Jazz’s parent company, the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, in multiple capacities since 2005, and since 2013 had been serving as the company’s executive vice president of communications, where she was responsible for overseeing internal and external corporate communications for the company and its more than 80 businesses and properties operating in 46 states in the areas of automotive, finance, insurance, real estate, sports, entertainment and retail. Luchetti concurrently served as vice president of communications for Larry H. Miller Charities. Under her direction, the company’s communications infrastructure has grown immensely in terms of resources, reach and readiness. 

Before her promotion to LHM Group headquarters, Luchetti worked as the senior vice president of communications for Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment, directing communications and community relations efforts for the Jazz and EnergySolutions Arena, as well as the Salt Lake Bees, Miller Motorsports Park, the company’s radio and TV stations, Fanzz stores and Megaplex Theatres.  In addition, Luchetti also functioned as the primary project manager for the company’s annual multi-day road cycling race, Tour of Utah, working directly with the race president in helping guide the event from tentative standing to becoming one of the premier cycling events in the world. 

Prior to joining the LHM Group, Luchetti worked on the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City handling public relations and served as press chief for the Olympic Stadium during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. In addition, Luchetti has worked in media relations at the Goodwill Games, the Pan American Games, the Sydney Olympic Games and the Athens Paralympic Games. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Luchetti spent 15 years working in the radio, television and newspaper industries in San Francisco, and served as race director for the 12K Examiner Bay to Breakers footrace, the largest participatory sporting event in the world from 1989-1998.
