Jazz Intrasquad Scrimmage Set for Oct. 6

SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 30, 2014) – Utah Jazz fans will have their first opportunity to see the 2014-15 squad when the team holds its annual intrasquad scrimmage at EnergySolutions Arena on Monday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. The free event is open to the public with no tickets required for admission.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. All food and beverage concessions, with the exception of beer sales, will be discounted 25 percent from 5-5:30 p.m. Fans are invited to watch the Utah Jazz Dunk Team practice on the court prior to the game along with performances from the America First Jazz Dancers.

Jazz radio broadcaster David Locke will hold a brief Q&A on the court with each individual Jazz player so that fans can “meet the team.” The scrimmage will begin after the interview session.

Under the direction of new Head Coach Quin Snyder, the Jazz feature the return of Trey Burke, Alec Burks, Ian Clark, Jeremy Evans, Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert, Gordon Hayward, and Enes Kanter. In addition Utah welcomes 2014 first round draft picks Danté Exum and Rodney Hood as well as new acquisitions Trevor Booker, Carrick Felix, Toure’ Murry and Steve Novak.

The open scrimmage concludes training camp and the team will begin the preseason schedule on Oct. 7 vs. Portland at EnergySolutions Arena. In total, the Jazz will play eight preseason games (three home, five road/neutral site). The regular season tips off on Oct. 29 when the Jazz host the Houston Rockets.
